Hi Sabana - great article! It's always so helpful learning from the greats, and Roald Dahl has always been my favourite author, even as an adult!
One small note - although Dahl famously blamed Geoffrey Fisher for that cruel caning, it came out later that Fisher had in fact left Repton by the time Dahl was a student there - it was actually his successor John Christie who administered that particular bout of bum torture! Dahl refused to apologise for the mistake even after confronted with the facts.. just proving the fact that he had never gotten over the emotional scarring of the experience.
Dahl was clearly just human. And that's one more thing we piddling little wannabes can be encouraged by! :)
